Description
Delicious, smoky flavor permeates these easy-to-make burgers that are equally delicious on the grill or in a pan. Based on 1 lb. of beef it’s easily adjusted for servings of all sizes.

| 1 tablespoon | olive oil | 15 mL |
| 1 tablespoon | worcestershire sauce | 15 mL |
| 2 teaspoons | liquid smoke | 10 mL |
| 1 tablespoon | brown sugar, packed | |
| 1 teaspoon | garlic powder | |
| 1/2 teaspoon | onion powder | |
| 1/2 teaspoon | paprika | |
| 1/2 teaspoon | salt |
Directions
- Preheat your grill or pan for high heat.
- Add all ingredients to a large bowl and combine together. Ensure everything is evenly mixed, but do not overwork.
- Form beef into patties of desired size and thickness.
- Grill patties, turning once, for about 8-10 minutes, or to desired degree of doneness. The internal temperature should be at 180°F (82°C). Serve with favorite condiments and trimmings.
Tips & Tricks
- To help achieve a tender burger, be sure not to over work the meat when mixing or forming your patties. Squeezing and overworking the beef will usually result in a tough, chewy texture.
- While grilling, don’t press the burger down with a spatula. Doing so releases the fat which not only reduces the flavor and juiciness of the burger, it usually causes nasty flare-ups and itself does little to speed up cooking.
